Pubbed peeps—Could this be you?

One of the best things about blogging is making new friends and “meeting” other authors, both published and pre-published. And doing author interviews reminds me of my favorite part of print journalism—asking questions and sharing information.

Even though my blog is only a few months old, I found myself wanting to pay it forward on the next level. The result? A new page called Books by Blogging Friends that helps promote my friends, followers and subscribers, whether they’ve published traditionally or have self-published.

I’ve added three authors whose book reviews and author interviews have already appeared on Bird’s-eye View, Stephen Barnett, Elizabeth Varadan (http://elizabethvaradansfourthwish.blogspot.com) and Ann Carbine Best (http://anncarbinebest.com). Ebony McKenna’s romantic fantasies Ondine: The Summer of Shambles and Ondine: The Autumn Palace (http://ejmckennablog.blogspot.com) will be featured next. Each has written a highly memorable book, and the new blog page includes a mini review as well as links for more information.

It’s my goal to have a blog that is more about you than it is about me, although I’ll be sure to keep you posted about my major writing milestones. If you’re a published follower or subscriber and would like to be added, please let me know; my e-mail address is mefayard(at)yahoo(dot)com.

Let me know as well if you’re interested in having your book reviewed on Bird’s-eye View, doing an author interview and/or co-hosting a book-giveaway contest. All reviews that post on Bird’s-eye View also go on www.amazon.com and www.goodreads.com in addition to the Books by Blogging Friends page. Book reviews and author interviews run every other Tuesday and Thursday.

I’d like to thank author Alexia Chamberlynn (http://alexiachamberlynn.blogspot.com) for inspiring this idea with her Awesome Books page. I hope you’ll take a moment to check it out as well!

The interviews are always interesting. We see that we're not alone in our struggles.

Michelle, what a lovely thing you are doing for fellow writers. I'm looking forward to our "interview" and for doing the same for you one day.

Richard: You couldn't have said it better!

Karen: I'm so excited about interviewing you. :) I would be honored to include your blog on a tour to promote my book (that wonderful day when I have a contract!), because I love how smoothly you've set up your blog tour.

Michelle, you are far too nice. If I could send you an electronic fruit basket, I would.

I can't wait to see the next interviews.

I adore interviews!!! I have a few coming up next week and I love asking quirky off the wall questions to learn more about the author and their novel. It's an interesting way to get to know someone better!

Welcome to my World: I'm so glad you enjoy the reviews and interviews; they are a joy to write.

Marlena: You're the one who's too nice! I wonder, does electronic fruit come out as a puree? I'm excited about the interviews too; Ebony McKenna, Margot Finke and Jessica McCann are up next.

Jen: I agree it's those quirky, off-the-wall questions that can yield the best answers. No wonder I follow your blog. :)

Yay for paying it forward! It feels good to be involved in such a supportive community. Thanks for the shout-out!

Elizabeth: Thank you very much for the feedback; I'm looking forward to posting your next book on here. Ooh, I'm hoping it's Imogene and the Case of the Missing Pearls.

Alexia: It would be worth it to be a writer just to be part of such a supportive network. Wonder why day jobs aren't always this way. :)

This is such a wonderful idea - a way to help your writing friends and at the same time let your readers know about great reads they might not have heard about otherwise. I'd love to be involved, but I'm in the wrong age group since I write PBs :) (although I'm TRYING to write novels!!)

Susanna, if you have a published PB you'd like on Bird's-eye View, I have a soft spot for them. Just let me know. :)
